We are facing tremendous housing challenges across the country.
Our homeownership rate remains at a historic low. Affordable housing is in critically short supply, making it more and more difficult for hardworking individuals and families to successfully purchase and own a home. Federal, state and local programs meant to help low- and moderate-income families in both rural and urban communities face funding cuts – or outright elimination – making it even more difficult for these families to get the help they need.

Next Step is gathering allies from diverse sectors – expanding our membership and partnering with innovative players in the manufactured housing industry, data-driven housing researchers, philanthropic leaders, social scientists, lenders, residents and community leaders – to address these housing challenges with smart, affordable, energy-efficient factory-built homes.
It comes back to families. It comes back to a working single mother, finally able to afford a home of her own for her and her children. It comes back to a young veteran, who moved out of high-priced rentals and into a brand new home with his wife and two young daughters. It comes back to a firefighter, who was able to purchase a new home after his own burned down.
